Sports Innovation Panel with Zack Jackson and Ari Peña

BOSC hosted a dynamic sports innovation panel featuring Zack Jackson, SVP and Head of Corporate Strategy & Growth at OneTeam Partners, and Ari Peña, Director of Innovation & Growth Strategy at the NHL. The conversation covered the evolving landscape of NIL and group licensing, how players associations are creating new commercial value for athletes beyond traditional contracts, and how the NHL is thinking about international expansion and fan engagement in new markets. Both speakers drew on their HBS backgrounds to offer sharp perspective on how the sports industry is being reshaped by data, media, and changing athlete economics.

Multi-Club Ownership Panel with Arvind Narayan

BOSC and the HBS Soccer Club welcomed Arvind Narayan, Co-Founder of Blue Crow Sports Group, for a deep dive into one of the most rapidly evolving trends in global sports, multi-club ownership. Narayan shared how Blue Crow has built a portfolio of football clubs across different markets, the strategic and operational logic behind the MCO model, and what the rise of institutional capital in global football means for the future of the sport. It was a conversation that resonated well beyond soccer, touching on investing, brand strategy, and the globalization of sports business broadly.

Boston Legacy FC x Monarch Collective Panel, co-hosted with the Women in Investing Club

BOSC and the HBS Women in Investing Club co-hosted an evening with two HBS alum: Christine Jiang, Investor at Monarch Collective, and Amina Bulman, Chief Revenue Officer of Boston Legacy FC, for a wide-ranging conversation on the business of women's sports. From early-stage revenue modeling and Year 0 franchise economics to the governance advantages the NWSL holds over other emerging leagues, the discussion offered a rare inside look at what it takes to build a women's sports franchise from the ground up.

 

After the event, a group of members made their way to Gillette Stadium to catch Boston Legacy's home opener, a fitting way to bring the conversation to life!

Fireside Chat with Bill Guerin, General Manager of the Minnesota Wild and 2026 U.S. Olympic Men's Hockey Team

In one of the most compelling conversations of the semester, Bill Guerin joined BOSC for a candid fireside chat on what it takes to build a championship organization. Guerin walked through his journey from player to executive, sharing how his experience on the ice shaped his philosophy as a GM: from roster construction and culture-building to the unique challenge of assembling and leading Team USA to a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics. It was a masterclass in leadership, decision-making under pressure, and what separates good organizations from great ones.
